Standing Orders
Standing orders are the written rules of a local council, they are essential to regulate the proceedings of a meeting.
The standing orders of a council are not the same as the policies of a council but standing orders may refer to them.
Financial Regulations
Financial regulations govern the conduct of financial management by the council. and may only be amended or varied by resolution of the council. Financial regulations must be observed in conjunction with the council‟s standing orders and any individual financial regulations relating to contracts.
Policies & Procedures
Policies and Procedures are a set of written rules relating to the various functions undertaken by the Council.
They are used in conjunction with Standing orders and Financial regulations to provide governance of the Councils activities.
